Read Sarah Dessen, my favorite author as a teen. (Start with Someone Like You or Truth About Forever).

(please god, don't read Twilight)I am 16 and my favorite thing to do is read. do you have any suggestions on teenage books?
For teen books, the best I've read recently is the Mortal Instruments series by Clare. Another good trilogy with a teen heroine, less well known, is the Tamir trilogy by Flewelling.
For funny books, try Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide series. Neil Gaiman can also be extremely funny, although he has a dark edge.
But I also agree with Lomax above that at your age someone who loves reading shouldn't really be confining herself to recent teen books. Some of the writers I enjoyed at around your age are George Orwell, Kurt Vonnegut, Franz Kafka, Mark Twain, Thomas (not Tom) Wolfe, Jane Austen, Arthur Conan Doyle, and Edgar Allen Poe.
I firmly believe that, at the age of sixteen, the whole of human literature should be available to you. I recommend -
The Iliad - Homer
The Divine Comedy - Dante
Don Quixote - Cervantes
Pride and Prejudice - Austen
Jane Eyre - Bronte, C
Madame Bovary - Flaubert
Les Miserables - Hugo
Crime and Punishment - Dostoevsky
Aim high.
