yah, an X is typically the symbol for being ';straight edge';





straight edge means you're not into sex, drugs, or alcohol
it could be to signify that she's part of generation X... thats all i can think of.
More than likely, she's been to a club that marks minor's hands with an ';X';. They usually use a permanent marker so that the minor can't just go wash it off in the bathroom and then go to the bar %26amp; order drinks.
a) it could, like everyone else says, mean straight edge, which is a very good thing to be. They're virgins, don't drink or do drugs, etc. and I'd be proud of you're daughter because it means she takes care of herself and her body.





b) it could mean she's emo, so be on the lookout for cuts and scabs, but long sleeves arn't that important, because a lot of people have taken to cutting there necks, chests, and thighs to avoid detection.





c) at my school an X on your hand symbolises you are not on ecstasy, and if you are you have an eXy it means you ARE on ecstasy.





d) here are some more little known reasons:


a mark that indicates ';Wrong answer, Dumba**!'; she might have been really embaressed and drew it on there because of anger like saying The capital of Florida is F and everyone laughing at her.





a letter in a naughty word - most commonly U, C, or K I don't give a fXXX what you think about this fXXXing definition!





a kiss (plural XX or XXX) she might have a boyfriend that drew it on her like I love you XXX


ALSO iused to draw on myself ALL THE TIME when i was younger, it could be she's just bored, and is doodling on her hand, once I took a red sharpie and drew a squiggly line design that covered my whole hand up to my elbow, and my parents were so super worried, but i just couldn't sleep one night, found a sharpie, and just doodled.
it is a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry big possibilaty she is going to clubs.
It's possible it refers to straight edge. It is a culture but in this case they promote being drug free.
in my school, drawing on your hands means either youre emo [very emotional] or bored...in class. if youre really that worried then why don't you just ask her why.
well i kno that some people at my school draw an x over a vein in their hand and it's supposed 2 feel like it's sinking in 2 their skin or something like that. (like pressing down)
Why the hell should you be worried? She is doodling on her hand!! For crying out loud.. She's not into devil worshipping!!! godd... steryotypes suck.

This could be totally innocent! It could as people said just be boredom or something that links her to a band, friend etc, but it is so good you have noticed and taken it upon yourself to keep an eye on it.


Could you maybe say ';I like that whats it mean darling?'; if you think she will be OK, If you are worried you may upset her just keep a eye on her as you have been.


I REALLY do not want to worry you but I have spoken to girls in the past who drew on their hands etc and this has all been a part of them self harming.


I DO NOT want to be out of line saying this I'm probably being totally stupid as it is probably just one X!


But I just wanted to mention it so you can look out for excessive drawing on the skin, cuts or lots of scabs and always wearing long sleeved clothing to hide away.


These are a few of the signs, obviously I am only talking about what I have spoken to my friends about who have been through this.

I am a girl in thee 6th grade and that is used in my school as a gang Mark or to tell that you are goth or emo .
Straight edge:





This is good. No smoking, drinking, drugs, sex, etc. Be glad, and celebrate the X. It means you have less to worry about your child.
