-stress
-getting up ever mourning at 5 is becoming a burden since pregnant young girls and woman need a lot of rest.
-all those raging hormones going through your body.
-clothes[i know a girl who didn't have any clothes that were descent to go to school in,so that layed another burden on her]
-maybe they want to finish education after the baby is born so that its better for them.
-they need a job to save up before and after the baby is here. Why do teenage moms drop out of school?
1)can't deal with this narrow minded society
2) baby needs constant care.
Well some parents make there kids drop out to take care of them there self's. Some of the teen moms cant afford daycare when they are at school. There might not be an Alternative school around them for teen mothers so they really have no other option. Too much stress. Pressure, and stress.
I think a lot of pregnant teens drop out of high school because they lack a support system. They feel like it is completely up to them to care of the child. Older women usually feel like they can turn to others for help, a friend, their partner, their mom, but teens don't seem to think like this. They think they are alone, i believe this is also a reason younger mothers seem to get more depressed. Being pregnant in high school is a little embarrassing, but many learn to get over that. By the way, I am in high school and know several moms who are continuing their education.
Becasue they have to get a job instead.
I am thinking it is because school adds stress and their embarrassed? I don't really know because you'd think they'd stay in so they would have an education so they could provide for the baby.
Because school adds to the pressure and stress. Having a baby is hard enough when your young and if your trying to balance that and school its tough. too much to handle. Trying to worry about good grades and doing the homework. Stress stress stress! pressure, pressure pressure!
I have had two friends who were pregnant while in school. One girls parents made her quit and get a job because ';she already ruined her life.'; She eventually got her GED and went on to further her education. She is doing fine now. The other quit because it's a small town and the board recommended it. Granted this was almost 15 years ago. It's a little different now.
Teenage mothers drop out of school, because they think it is too hard to raise a baby and get an education.
In addition to the fact that they have to physically be there for there bay, they also need to start buying a lot of things for a baby like diapers and clothes, and various other things. that being said, they have to get a job to be able to afford all of that stuff. The average first born child in a low income family (in other words they are buying cheap things, not expensive things) will cost over $20,000 in the first year, and that is after the hospital.
In addition to those, i think there is a lot of embarrassment the the still pregnant mother feels walking around school pregnant. If your pregnant in high school, you stick out. People stair. they KNOW that your sexually active. Having strangers know about your sex life is not a great feeling. Plus they always feel like others are judging them. They assume that people think they are a whore, or a sinner or what ever else. Also When your pregnant you gain a lot of weight. And i don't know a single teen girl who feels good about her body when she gains a lot of weight.
To sum up, a) to take care of the baby b) to afford the baby c) they are embarrassed.
Hope i helped!
:-)
because they're stupid and dont care. same reason they had the baby
A lot of times, their parents refuse to help them raise the baby (believing that it is best for the teenage mom) and so the child is forced to drop out of school to take care of them.
Also, if the mom is going to a not-so-good school, then they're scared for the baby's safety. Or they're getting horribly taunted and teased and they can't take it anymore.
Good luck on your paper!
most teenage moms have to get a job to support her and her child and don't get much support from the dad because he just calls her a **** and doesn't pay child support or has a minimum wage job. If he has a good job that means he probably doesn't have much time to spend with the child. also the mom's parents aren't usually accepting and probably won't babysit. all this together prevents the mom from going to school. but if you can make it through this your a strong person.
Some schools recommend they leave as to not promote sexual activity or give the other kids ideas
Some don't have enough support from family to help care for the baby so they can stay in school
Others are labeled a ho or easy and abused and talked about
others are an embarrassment to their families so they stay home...less grief
Some go on welfare to help pay for what the baby needs and the hospital bill
welp some have to take care of there baby becuase there parents are working and dont want to take care of the baby. or they have to get a job. sometimes they have there baby stay out of school for a year then come back when there baby can go into day care. (thats what my friend did) they might feel to much pressure and not accepted by there peers anymore. good luck with your paper
